Activism Campaigns

In 2019 during the 16 days of Activism Against Gender based violence, we collaborated with Tamba Africa Circus to host a series of artivism campaigns such as silent protests in areas known for prostitution and women harassment in the CBD, role reversal street theatre at a high-risk transport rank in the CBD and dance theatre performances to raise awareness on Gender Based Violence.

In addition to the physical campaign, we also created an online campaign that saw multiple Zimbabweans from all social backgrounds making their statements against gender-based violence in Zimbabwe. The campaign was not gender-specific or age-specific. We also were hosted on 3 of the national radio stations with survivors of GBV who shared their survival stories.

COVID 19 Pandemic

In 2019 the world was shaken with the Corona Virus pandemic that started in China and fast spread throughout the world. The virus saw nations across the globe initiating emergency shutdowns which left multiple artists without a means to survive as multiple events were postponed or cancelled due to the introduction of social distancing.

In 2020, the Incubator ZW in collaboration with Connected Sahara conducted an online discussion called Lessons gleaned from the coronavirus which saw creatives from all over the world sharing their views, fears, hopes, and new plans in the new world order.
